There’s nothing like a nice, refreshing drink to calm the mood and set the tone for the right kind of morning, afternoon or evening.

Adding cannabidiol, or CBD, is one way to put a fresh spin on old favorites while enhancing the existing flavor profile. You can infuse your drinks with CBD tinctures and oils. These affect the taste of beverages differently.

Oils provide concentrated flavor and a distinct hemp smell and can either be infused or drizzled on the drinks. Tinctures, on the other hand, blend well with alcohol and are less likely to drop to the bottom of a glass or get trapped in the layers of your drink. You can also add CBD isolates or syrup infusions to your drinks to customize your experience.

Here are a few simple CBD infused beverages, both with alcohol and without, that can take your next party, barbeque, or solo afternoon simply enjoying the summer sunshine, to the next level.

Non-alcoholic:

CBD Mint Tea

Tea is a great treat to prepare for gatherings with friends or to simply just have a pitcher handy in the fridge as an herbal alternative to water. Infusing your tea with our mango or raspberry tinctures and fresh mint leaves is a great afternoon treat when poured over ice.

Ingredients:

  • 2 handfuls of fresh mint leaves (with extra for garnish)
  • 4 cups of filtered water
  • 15 mg CBD tincture
  • A squeeze of lemon

Instructions:

  1. Bring the water to 190 degrees Fahrenheit or a near boil.
  2. Place the fresh mint in a glass container and pour hot water over the top.
  3. Steep the leaves for 10 minutes before discarding them.
  4. Allow the tea to cool 30 minutes before adding CBD tincture (to taste).
  5. Finish cooling the tea completely and serve over ice with a fresh mint sprig.

 

CBD Golden Milk

Turmeric and fresh ginger make this spiced dairy-free golden milk a powerful antioxidant that can soothe the soul, while the addition of ceylon cinnamon can keep your blood sugar stable and healthy. Turmeric also has anti-inflammatory properties that can enhance brain chemicals like serotonin.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of almond or coconut milk
  • 1 tsp of coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon of maple syrup or raw honey
  • 1 inch strip fresh ginger or ¼ teaspoon of ginger powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon of turmeric
  • ½ teaspoon of turmeric
  • ½ teaspoon of ceylon cinnamon
  • 1 pinch each of finely ground black pepper, nutmeg, and clove
  • .5 ml (about a ½ a dropper full) of CBD oil

Instructions:

  1. Add milk, vanilla, and spices to a small saucepan over low heat and cool for 10 minutes.
  2. Remove from heat, pour into mugs, add the desired amount of CBD oil, and stir well.
  3. Enjoy either over ice or hot.

 

CBD Green Tea Matcha Latte

This creamy Matcha Latte is also dairy-free and is a fantastic alternative to coffee. It has robust antioxidant benefits from the matcha powder, while the coconut butter gives it that smoothness that will warm your palette.

Ingredients:

  • ½ teaspoon matcha powder
  • 2 teaspoons coconut sugar
  • 1 teaspoon coconut butter
  • 10 oz. hot water (not boiling or simmering)
  • .5 ml of CBD oil

Instructions:

  1. Combine the matcha powder, coconut sugar, and coconut butter in a medium-sized mug
  2. Pour in hot water and use a spoon to stir together the ingredients. Stir for about 10 seconds to make sure that the coconut butter melts into the latte.
  3. Add the CBD oil and stir once more before serving.

 

With alcohol

CBD Cosmopolitan

This cosmo will make you feel both distinguished and balanced, while the CBD infusion puts a new spin on a timeless classic.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. vodka
  • 1 oz. cranberry juice cocktail
  • ¼ oz. CBD syrup
  • ¾ oz. fresh lime juice
  • ¾ oz. triple sec
  • An orange twist

Instructions:

To make a CBD syrup, combine honey and water in a pot or a saucepan, add ginger, and bring to a simmer for 40 minutes. Add desired CBD extract oil dosage to your empty simple syrup vessel, strain cooled syrup into the vessel, and stir well to incorporate the oil. Shake well.

  1. Mix the vodka, cranberry juice, CBD syrup, lime juice, and the triple sec in a cocktail shaker.
  2. Add ice. Shake vigorously for 15 seconds or until the shaker becomes chilled.
  3. Strain into a martini glass using a slotted spoon or strainer.
  4. Garnish with an orange twist.

 

CBD Mint Julep

Transport yourself to the Kentucky Derby with this fresh take on the southern classic.

Ingredients:

  • 2 ½ oz. bourbon
  • ½ oz. simple syrup
  • 2-8 mint leaves (with extra for garnish)
  • 15 mg CBD tincture

Instructions:

  1. Muddle up the leaves and the simple syrup along with the CBD tincture in a chilled julep cup.
  2. Add the bourbon and top it off with pebble ice.
  3. Swizzle and top with more ice.
  4. Garnish with additional leaves or fresh mint sprigs.

 

CBD Mezcal Margarita 

This smoky mezcal margarita will give you that daily dose of greens and a jam-packed flavor profile that is perfectly suited to any splendid summer day.

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz. mezcal
  • 1 oz. aquavit
  • ¾ oz. fresh lime juice
  • ¾ oz. agave syrup
  • 1 oz. of your favorite green juice such as kale, celery, or arugula
  • 1 pinch of sea salt
  • 15 mg CBD tincture

Instructions:

To make the agave syrup, simply heat equal parts water and agave nectar and stir to dissolve.

  1. Combine the mezcal, aquavit, lime juice, agave syrup, green juice, salt, and CBD tincture in a shaker filled with ice.
  2. Shake, then fine strain into a lowball glass with one large cube of ice.
  3. Garnish with edible flowers or your favorite greens.
