Let’s face it: Thanksgiving can be stressful. Family, travel, meal preparation; it can get quite overwhelming, adding to anxiety aplenty.

But don’t worry; you’re not alone. A staggering 38% of Americans feel an increase in stress during the holiday season, and 53% attribute this worry to financial concerns. That’s why you need relaxing CBD products at an affordable price.

But why wait until Christmas to stuff your stocking with cannabis goodness? Thanksgiving is the perfect time to treat yourself to a hearty meal that sticks to your ribs but not your burgeoning anxiety.

GROOVY GRAVY

No meal would be complete without a succulent sauce to drizzle over your potatoes, stuffing, or protein selection. While it may be a bit decadent to pour CDB oil directly onto your Thanksgiving plate, there are sensible alternatives to this idea.

Cooking with CBD adds a mellow to your meal, and it has a conveniently high boiling point, so it works perfectly in dishes prepared at 320 to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

We’re looking at you, gravy!

To appease every appetite around your holiday table, consider making a vegan gravy for your loved ones. It’s health conscious, eco-friendly, and just plain tasty! We’re assuming you have a multitude of guests arriving for Thanksgiving, and that they are all ravenously hungry (perhaps we’re projecting), so here’s an ample list of ingredients to get you started:

  • 4 cups of veggie broth
  • 6 tablespoons of nutritional yeast
  • 1.5 teaspoons of onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon of Dijon mustard (fancy alert!)
  • 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
    • If you’re going the gluten-free route, you can use tamari instead
  • ½ cup of all-purpose flour
    • Again, if gluten-free is your vibe, then brown rice flour works just dandy

Pour all of the aforementioned ingredients into a pot until it boils. Turns down the heat and start whisking. Add a splash of CBD oil and consider your options: raspberry or mango! Once your groovy gravy thickens, it’s ready to serve. You’re welcome!

If you want (nay, NEED) some soda bread to dip into your delectable sauce, check out our recipe here. Breaking bread has never been so chill…

COOL BEANS

You’ll have the world on a string when you jazz up your string beans this holiday season. Grab a pound (or two – who’s counting?) of fresh green beans from your favorite farmer’s market or produce aisle. When you get them home, trim the ends and snap them in half (or more if they are particularly long).

As you bring your beans to a boil, the real fun begins. Mince up two or three cloves of garlic and slather them with CBD oil. Mix this concoction with three tablespoons of butter and add salt and pepper to satisfy your unique palate.

Lower the heat on the beans and let them simmer until they soften. It should take about five minutes. Drain out the water thoroughly and then add in your garlic, butter, and CBD-triumphant sauce until it melts evenly throughout the dish.

Feel free to garnish with parmesan cheese, sautéed mushrooms, or breadcrumbs. After all, you’re the captain of this bean boat!

STUFFING STOCKER

You can never have enough carbs, so get ready to start preparing this epic CBD stuffing a day ahead of time. Dice up a pound of bread into quarter-inch cubes and let them dry out overnight. On Thanksgiving morning, assemble the following goodies:

  • 8 tablespoons of butter
  • 2 cups of diced onions
  • 40 drops of CBD oil
  • 4 stalks of thinly sliced celery
  • 2 cloves of minced garlic
  • Parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme (literally!) as well as salt and pepper
  • 4 cups of chicken stock and/or vegetable broth
  • 2 eggs

Grease a large baking dish and preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Melt your butter and mix in the onions and celery, stirring them until they soften. This should take about eight minutes. Now add the seasonings along with 25 drops of CBD oil and allow about a minute for the whole mixture to gel.

In a large bowl, combine your bread cubes with the buttery mélange. In another container, beat two eggs and mix them with the broth, then pour it all over your bread/butter situation.

Transfer your ingredients onto your pre-heated, greased pan and cover it with aluminum foil. After baking for approximately 45 minutes, remove the foil and drizzle two tablespoons of butter and 15 drops of CBD oil over your stuffing. Allow another 15 minutes for the dish to brown, and behold the beauty!

HOW DO YOU LIKE THEM APPLES?

Enough with the healthy stuff; bring on dessert! Apple pie is as American as the old cliché says, so bake up your favorite recipe and get ready for rave reviews.

Now, to add some pizzazz to your pastry, consider CBD oil as a garnish. A good rule of thumb is 1ml per slice, but this measurement depends on taste levels, potency, and honest communication between the server and their guest.

This brings us to the main course: togetherness. Open up a dialogue about CDB, its health benefits, and how it pertains to your life. When a tincture of oil is being passed around the Thanksgiving table, this creates the perfect conversation piece for a mealtime discussion.

HUGS is all about transparency, as you’ll see in our mission statement(s). We want to end the stigma of cannabis usage and celebrate individual freedoms, no matter how you choose to live your life. If you scroll down a bit further on our “about” page, you’ll see that we’re also passionate about giving back to the community. If you or one of your Thanksgiving guests is in need of compassion and consideration this holiday season, we embrace your journey and support your recovery.

Pass the salt and pass on the love this November. Happy Thanksgiving, from all of us at HUGS!
